We all have the ability to make decisions daily. When we don’t make decisions; that’s actually a decision as well. Why do people not take action when they have every chance in the world to do so? The lack of action people are willing to take when they have the opportunity to is kind of sad.
If you are capable of getting stuff done, why wouldn’t you do it? Most of the time, the work it takes isn’t even painful. I’ve seen people spend more time making up excuses than it would have taken to just do the task and move on.
Perhaps even worse is a person who not only doesn’t take action, but they convince other people not to try their best either.
Why, why, why?
If you are going to be negative, not work and basically be lazy, please don’t project those traits onto people who want to do their best.
What I love seeing is a person who takes what God blessed them with and then works as hard as they can to be the best they can be. That’s what I love. I never get tired of seeing people push their limits and reach heights of success that most of the world didn’t think they were capable of reaching. I call those people winners that refuse to quit until they make something happen.
“I never get tired of seeing people push their limits and reach heights of success that most of the world didn’t think they were capable of reaching. I call those people winners that refuse to quit until they make something happen.”
There’s nothing worse than having all the talent in the world and not using it to make people around you and the world a better place. You can’t hide your talents if you really want to be able to say you lived your best life when it’s all said and done. I try to do the best I can every day, and I want to urge you to do the same. Yes, we all have bad day when we don’t want to push ourselves to get more done. However, those who keep pushing even when they don’t really want to are usually the people who get ahead in life and find a way to be successful.
How can you get from where you are to where you really want to be if you are wasting time and being negative? I don’t think you can reach your dreams and goals unless you are running wide open like your hair is on fire.
If you want to be successful, you have to be willing to take 100 percent responsibility for everything that happens in your life. Why? The truth is that everything that happens to you is essentially on you. Everything you think, say and do needs to be extremely intentional. It should also align with your believed purpose, your personal values and, ultimately, your goals!
Why must we all act on these simple but proven principles?
The answer is this: if we want to get everything we truly, truly want; we must stop complaining and start making things happen!
I want to share some pretty simple things you can do in your life that scream to the world that you want to win. These items also tell people that you are betting on yourself to win in life. They tell people that you want to help other people win too.
Take responsibility … don’t make excuses. Too many people have a victim mentality when it comes to why they are in whatever situation they find themselves in. I know that there are bad things that happen to people in this world. However, a lot of people don’t take ownership or responsibility for where they are at in life. Where you are right now is shaped by the choices and decisions you have made up to this point. If you can stop making excuses and start taking ownership, you can change where you are pretty quickly.
Be A Positive Communicator
Are you an aggressive, positive communicator? Communication is critical to your success. The better you can become at communicating with people, the more likely you will achieve what you set out to do. When you talk to people, focus on being clear and simple with your words. Don’t confuse people by not being transparent and clear. Keep it simple. Tell people exactly what you need or want to happen. People appreciate and respect clarity. Work on communicating better daily. It will pay off.
Do What You Say You Will Do
Make yourself somebody who can be counted on. This means show up … on time! Be consistent and follow through on what you say you are going to do. If you deliver on your words, people will gain trust and faith in you over time. If you are not consistent, then you can’t lead others because you haven’t shown them that you stick to your words.
Be a problem-solver not a problem-starter. When you face a hurdle, work on getting over it or around it. Don’t stop trying to figure out the solution to your problem or issue. When other people seem to be stuck or about to negative about what they are dealing with, step up and help them change their thinking and outlook.
Do people enjoy being around you? Do you get invited to a lot of events and social gatherings? If you don’t, maybe people don’t think you are fun? People will always remember how you make them feel. If you are lucky enough to meet new people or see old friends, make them feel special. If you do this, they will never forget it. You will likely also have more friends and get to enjoy more social time with people if you are known as nice and fun to hang out with. It doesn’t cost anything to be nice. Just be nice to people!
Build and expand relationships … proactively! I say this a lot, but here’s my chance to write it on this blog: Get to know people before you need them. Once you need them, it’s too late to meet them and get to know them. Forge that bond now, so you will have an ally in the event you need their help down the road.
Do you have a servant’s heart? Do you love helping people when you know they are in need? If you make it part of your mission to help people when you have the chance, you will be rewarded. It might not happen immediately, but, in time, you will benefit from being a person that seeks to help others.
Go the Extra Mile
Do you things in a manner that makes me people think you are an “Above and Beyond” person? People that go that extra distance to make a difference in the lives of others tend to leave an impression on people that doesn’t go away quickly. If you can seek excellence in all that you do, you will get better results than the person who chooses not to do so.
Know Your Why
Do you spend hours daily working constantly to hone your motive or skills? Do you wake up knowing what your motivation is for that day? Is your why big enough that you refuse to lose? All those questions matter. If you have a clear mission, you are more likely to be successful!
I hope these words have inspired you to be better in all that you do. I know that I am constantly working hard to be better in all aspects of my life. I hope this blog has helped you get your mind right and that you start tackling your goals and dreams faster and more methodical than ever before!
