November 12, 2012
I have neglected this blog lately so I wanted to take a quick minute to give you a quick update since I last posted an entry here.
The month of October was a whirlwind for me and the Alliance. We held events in four cities – Atlanta, Ga., Burlington, N.C., Los Angeles, Calif. and Dallas, Texas. We had more than 2,500 people attend those four events and our Fall Forwards were a great success.
Last weekend, a group of our top people went to the John C. Maxwell Exchange in Boston, Mass. It was a blast. We got to tour Harvard, checked out the John F. Kennedy library and took batting practice at Fenway Park. We also had the chance to meet former Red Sox great Jim Rice, CNN senior political analyst David Gergen, and political author and syndicated columnist Cal Thomas during our time there.
Last night (Nov. 8), I was invited to speak to student at my alma mater – North Carolina State University – at the school’s Entrepreneurship Initiative. It was a lot of fun and I got to spend the day with my daughter Haleigh, while she toured the campus.
I wanted to share a link to a story about my visit to speak with the students, who are some of the nation’s next bright stars. I’ll be speaking again on Monday as part of the Triangle’s Entrepreneurship Week at the McKimmon Center on N.C. State’s campus. I look forward to sharing more in the near future.
I hope 2012 has been great for you and I encourage you to push hard for the rest of the year. If it’s been a great year so far, I hope you close strong to make it the best ever for you and yours!
